About me.

Thank you for looking at my website. My name is Rona Duncan and I am an experienced Independent Civil Celebrant.

I was a Physiotherapist for 30 years, then a Police Officer for 13 years. These roles taught me to be caring, compassionate, respectful and calm under pressure. With excellent listening and communication skills, I quickly build rapport, and sensitively tune in to the feelings of others. I am empathetic and understand the complexities of families in the present day.

I am a mother, a daughter, a granny, a partner and a loyal friend to those who know me.   I have worked in the 3rd sector as a professional and as a volunteer so have insight into the difficulties that some groups within the community have.

I am known as a happy, cheerful, and approachable person, sensitive to how others around me are feeling.  I'm non-judgemental and treat everyone as an equal. I am open and respectful to the beliefs and opinions of all, as I believe we are part of an inclusive society. Whilst working in the Equality and Diversity field, I supported communities  from the protected characteristics groups to be heard and valued.

I am passionate about my work and always work to the highest personal and professional standards and can be trusted to do an excellent job every time.

I trained with the Celebrant Training Academy and passed with distinction. Thanks to Annie and Neil for a great course!

I love life!
